In Memory of Elizabeth Janet Noonan Stuart

Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to stop here. This is a site dedicated to my Grandmother. It is in her memory that I'm walking the miles I am.......

On January 22, 2002, my Grandmother, Betty, was diagnosed with breast cancer.

On February 20, 2002, I lost my Grandmother to breast cancer.

While it isn't clear just how long she was fighting this battle prior to diagnosis; it is with much certainty, I do know that she fought the battle of breast cancer much the same way she faced life -- with a lot of courage.

In her memory, and with her inspiration, I will be participating in a very special and powerful event in the fight against breast cancer. It's called the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day and I'd like to tell you about it.

I'll walk 60 miles from Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Chicago, Illinois, with more than 4,000 other courageous people to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. The net proceeds will support the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade's mission to fund access to care and to find a cure for breast cancer, with a focus on medically underserved women.

I've agreed to raise $1,900 in donations by May 17, 2002. I'm asking for your moral, financial and emotional support. Would you please consider making a fully tax deductible donation to help me meet my goal? The miles I'll be walking, as well as the physical and emotional energy I'll be extending is most definitely a worthwhile cause.

This year according to the American Cancer Society, over 182,000 women the United States, alone, will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Over 40,000 will die. One in eight women will be personally affected by this disease. That's why I'm walking so far. I'm certain my efforts alone are minute, but as part of the team determined to make a difference, I'm making a bold statement. While my Grandmother isn't here to see me off on this endeavor, I carry her strength with me.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and much appreciated support.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would pass this site on to at least two or three of your favorite email friends....let's get the word out and find a cure!

All my best!

Jessica
